It’s a rain day, so a mooch around the coast and see if we can get Sue’s phone fixed.
A slow start to the day but we were out of the villa by 11-ish. It had rained heavily over night and into the morning…
The next town around the coast is Acharavi, which is less touristy than other towns around here, but a long single Road Town with many shops running along the road. There’s also some bigger supermarkets and shops that locals might need.
One of the shops was Germanos, an independent phone store at the west end of the town. The tech in the store said he’d have a look at Sue’s phone, which is till dead, and let us know tomorrow.
We then headed to Sidari, west along the coast again. Sidari is definitely NOT our cup of tea. A few semi-sandy beaches with a huge number of bars, restaurants and beach shops running on streets behind the beach front.
There are some pretty-ish rock formations at the west end of the beach, but spoilt by the hundreds of people and the rubbish littered everywhere.
We had a coffee to stay out of the rain, which threatened but didn’t hit. Then wandered back through the horrendous Sidari streets!
After an hour at home we headed back into Kassiopi for supper. We were early (6:30) and lots of places didn’t reopen until 7. So we went with Kami Restaurant where we had a coffee yesterday morning. The food was excellent again.
Tomorrow is going to be wet again – all the boat trips out of Kassiopi have been cancelled for a second day. We’ll see if Sue’s phone is repairable as well.
