Day 24 – Another Rest Day

Not much to write about today. We just hung about the campsite, did some washing, sorted out where we’re going on Friday (Trogir) and a quick trip up to the Tommy SuperMarket just up the road (and what seemed to be endless €1 shops).

The Bear campsite really emptied this morning, just 5 pitches used by midday. But it’s filled up again this afternoon and we even had a chat with a couple from Suffolk – the guy grew up in Stoke Bishop and went to Cathedral School, small world!

It’s been hot today, getting up to 30. Though there’s been a cooling breeze and we picked a good spot with the plum trees creating plenty of shade.

Our intended site for Friday evening and then 4 nights, Camping Rozac in Trigor, is what looks to be an amazing campsite on the coast near Split. However, it’s another site where they don’t take bookings in August, so you have to turn up and hope they have space. We called the site and were told we could ring when we’re a couple of hours away and they’d then hopefully reserve something. I suspect they’re so popular that if they had people just not show up on a booking then they wouldn’t perhaps always fill that slot. Or maybe it’s so crazy busy they can’t keep up with the bookings. Perhaps we’ll ask why when we get there.

We’re heading into the Plitvice Falls park tomorrow, hopefully there’ll be more to report then.
