It\u2019s another travel day. But thankfully, after the over night rain, it was dry when we woke up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It had rained a lot over night, but the van hasn\u2019t shown any signs of leaking and we were completely dry through the rain\u2026 that\u2019s not really camping is it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of us had a shower up at the farmhouse, had some breakfast and then packed away. The floor mat we use outside the van was soaked and the awning and windscreen cover needed a good wiping down, but that was about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once we\u2019d packed up we went to pay for the stay and we had a long chat with the owner Daniel. They run a deer breeding farm and sell the deer for genetic improvement of the deer stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whilst the owners were very friendly their dog was a bit creepy. It seemed to be a big softie but it was very big and very black. The definition of The Grim! I\u2019m sure it was fine, but it wasn\u2019t a fun experience to head up through the courtyard and past the \u201cbeware of the dog\u201d signs. Sue refused to go to the toilet in the night because of \u2018The Grim\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then on to have a drive past Lake Constance. Daniel had recommended we go to Meersburg, so we headed there along the lake shore, past 100s of cyclists on the provided cycle routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We parked just out of town and in a popular spot, it was rammed when we got back 2 hours later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meersburg was a pretty old town. We walked around the streets and had a coffee down by the ferry port. We then walked up to top of the hillside town and made our way back down through the sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake Constance is an average of 90m deep and 251m at its deepest\u2026 it looks it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So with Meersberg done we hoped back in the van and knocked out the remaining 200-ish-km to Munich. We had a diesel stop on the motorway for a rather expensive \u20ac1.68\/L!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich wasn\u2019t too bad to drive around and we found the hotel reasonably easily. The onsite parking was a rather steep \u20ac30\/day for the underground parking or \u20ac25\/day at the hotel. We chose to park the van on the street and lock the bikes up outside the hotel. We\u2019ll see if that\u2019s a good idea or not when we go and check in on the van in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tea was a salad feom REWE, our new favourite super market. It was raining when we got to Munich, so easier to pop round to the REWE and have tea in the hotel room. And with good WiFi we can plan our next few stops, and call the boys!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re at about 1100 miles on the odometer now. I\u2019ll check exact mileage tomorrow (1192). We\u2019ll hopefully be doing a bike tour of Munich while we\u2019re here and a trip on the Metro\/Train\/Bus to Dachau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
